All time parents worry – why my child is getting white hair ?
The natures law which cannot be altered is aging. Any person ages naturally after 35 years. This is also the age when your hair starts giving you signs of aging by turning white in few areas. But what if this happens in children of age 15 -25 years ? This is called premature graying of hair . The causes for this can be many. A few to mention are the genetics which play a role. It can be because of nutritional deficiency especially zinc, copper, manganese, calcium, vitamin D3, vitamin E, Iron.
Thanks to todays environmental pollution, dust, radiation and excess sun exposure which play major role in premature graying of hair. Todays generation kids are very enthusiastic and curious about products being shown in tv ads. They want to try anything and everything which their favourite star use in promotion ads. Excess use of various chemicals on scalp can also damage the hair. Now-a-days a 12 year girl wants to use cosmetics and do hair styling . This is not good for the hair. Excess heat used while blow drying or straightening the hair can actually make it weak, dry and brittle which eventually breaks off. The other important factors to consider are the lifestyle modifications. We all know smoking can damage our lungs but also damages the skin and hair.
What can we actually do to prevent this, as they are very few treatment options for this problem.
Take plenty of water, minimum 2-4 litres. This helps to washe off the toxins from the body
Know the correct technique of applying oil. Oiling should be done only to the hair once a while not to the scalp, especially those suffering from dandruff.
Try implementing healthy food rich in protein, minerals, vitamins.
Manage your stress levels by practicing yoga, meditation.
Keep your scalp clean and simple.
Don’t do excess styling of hair. Apply only low heat from a distance if you want to do blow dry for any occasion.
